Final
The Final of the Battle of the Bands Competition was held in the Share Centre, Lisnaskea, on 20th March 2008.

The line up of band for the night was, Experienced Section:

Momma's Slippers




Visceral Attack



The winners, from the experienced section, were Momma’s Slippers. They received a one week slot in a recording studio where they got to produce 100 copies of a 5 track CD.


Novice Section:


The Felt Tips


Scarlet


The winner from the Novice section was The Felt Tips and they received a £500 voucher for Band equipment from McElwaines in Enniskillen. 


The judges on the night provided their services free of charge.



They were Liam Curran, local DJ and PMR Music Productions, Malcolm Mc Dowell from Star Productions in Belfast, Niall Bogue from Rock the Lough, Pat Mc Manus from Hi – Voltage and Paddy Glasgow from the G Festival. The judges commented on depth of talent of the bands and the difficulty they had in deciding the winners.

On the night there was a multi media presentation with local celebrities giving of their times on a voluntary basis to the initiative. Aishling Rehill Fermanagh Rose, Martin McGrath Fermanagh GAA Allstar, Enniskillen actor Ciaran McMenamin and journalist with Irish News Diana Rusk all provided personal messages urging young people experiencing difficulties to seek help. They were urged to seek help from friends and family and to make contact with the relevant support agencies.   

The Oak Healthy Living Centre thanked the following Support Services who gave up their time to attend on the night – Ego Project, Women’s Aid, Aisling Centre, Nexus, Drugwiser, Rural Support, Samaritans and Western Health and Social Care Trust.  

A special guest appearance from Pat Mc Manus and Hi- Voltage brought the night to a close.
