Healthy Living Centes

Each Healthy Living Centre project is based on the needs specific to thier area.

The Oak Healthy Living Centre is no different, we aim to reduce inequalities based mainly around geographical access to services and the difficulties the Health Service experiences in trying to effectively and efficiently deliver many Health and Social Services in an area remote from centralised services with a dispersed rural population.

The Oak Healthy Living Centre is designed to meet local circumstances. Much but not all our current work is aimed at preventing ill health. Like other Healthy Living Centres, we would like to retain some of that flexibility which allows us to respond quickly and adapt to local circumstances. However we are open to new challenges and how we might help the Health Department in reaching its goals. The Healthy Living Centres have proven ability and resourcefulness in fund raising from non-health board monies from a wide range of sources.

The Oak Healthy Living Centre instead of having a purpose built building provide activities within the communities that we serve.  Below are the community centres that we use to deliver our activities.  Activities that we run in each centre are chosen by the community therefore meeting their needs.
